oh treasure, come out of hiding...

where is your heart hidden?

is it hidden behind the depth of pain you carry on your back? is it stuffed away behind the work that never seems to stop coming? how about in the shame of your past? present role? dream of the future?

where is your heart hidden?

call her by name. call her out of hiding….

…the Lord called to the man and said to him “Where are you?"

call her by name, tell her of the freedom that awaits…

therefore, behold, I will allure her,

and bring her into the wilderness,

and speak tenderly to her…

hold her, care for her, cherish and treasure her…

guard the good deposit entrusted to you…

oh how splendid she is-a strange dichotomy of fierce boldness and gentle fragility. our hearts are made for good-our hearts are made for beautiful union with the one who can see her worth. he sees the coming pearl when the others see the ocean’s scraps.

find your heart, and hide her in the Mighty Arms of a Righteous God. he will not expose, he will not abuse, he will not violate, nor neglect….

take her out of her hiding place….it hasn’t worked out that well anyways…

for whoever would save his life will lose it…

and surrender her completely…

…but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it…

and so life begins.
