today i witnessed a miracle.

something amazing happened today. i witnessed a miracle:

noun:an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs

i looked in the mirror.

i am a woman who fears the Lord.

this was never in the plan.

However, i was pursued by a Love that runs deep. A Love that has punctured through the weeds that tried to suffocate my heart. The Great Gardener has killed the old heart, striving for survival in the rocky, dry soil.

And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

in this rotting body, The Great Gardener gently created a new flower bed. it did not begin easy. He broke the old ground with a hard shovel. you see, He had to kill the old. He allowed His lovely flower’s intended beauty to be poisoned and violated. it broke the Great Gardener’s heart to see each petal plucked from His beloved flower’s stem.  that which was intended to be green and full became brown and bare. the beloved flower bed was stepped on by careless passerby. the flower was stripped of its fullness by people seeking something to devour. the soil turned to dust by its own refusal to take the nutrients the Son so longed to give. alas, the Great Gardener knew it was the only way to bring forth new life.

He took a sigh, and shoveled the old away, and slowly began planting the new, so that He may bring light to those watching her come to life. for His Word rings true:

And they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’ Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I am the Lord; I have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted that which was desolate. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.

this flower is full, with rich soil, and a new fence to protect it-for it is the Great Gardener’s treasured possession.

and so the story begins.
