You switched it up on me, friends, family, and Mister Kim-you were all in on it. Every detail, you were all in on it. Oh but I would not have it any other way. The gates opened, and instant magic appeared. You asked me to dance with you; and Baby, I would dance with you forever. Will you dance with me all the days of my life? Twinkle lights or lackluster trees, will you dance with me all the days of my life? Under the sunset, or in the kitchen, pull me close, kiss my neck, and dance with me, all the days of my life.
I knew all our beautiful pals were inside, and I couldn’t wait to share with them our story and smiles-but I wish I would have stayed, just a moment longer, to hold you close and dance with you. But, my Darling One, you chose me and you know me-and you know me so well that you knew this day would not be my most special day without all my most special people there.
But, in a moment of heartfelt honesty, my favorite moment of the night is when you got down on one knee, and said some words I can’t remember, and I placed my head to yours-my heart was overwhelmed with welled up love and emotion for you, for how well you love me, for how deeply you know me, and how you chose me. You chose me.
God hears our music, and he likes it.
And, as we opened the doors, with songs of excitement and joy and tears, God showed me the layers upon layers of people and pals that made a promise on that night to walk with us, allowing us to call upon them with the going gets rough…because, Darling, it would not be the beautiful marriage we hope for without the passion of conflict, and our bruised hearts are what make us, well, us.
How loved we are. How loved I am.
Thank you for choosing me, William Kim, to be your best friend and partner forever-God hears our music, and he likes it.
